A small bathroom renovation that made a big difference
An old home in Sydney’s Inner West was in urgent need of a bathroom renovation.
The bathroom was rundown with obvious signs of mould and sweaty walls.
It was damp, dark and had a poor layout.
Our clients needed a modern bathroom with more storage for their growing family.
Once the bathroom renovation was underway it quickly became obvious that the existing duct could not cope with the humidity of the room.
Our first thought was to find a way to introduce natural air flow
So we decided to install a window in the wall above the bath tub.
We knew that this would require us to move some existing plumbing and get the correct lintel installed
So we called in a certified engineer to ensure that everything would be up to code.

It was important to make sure the window was high enough for privacy and also fit with the aesthetics of the bathroom.
After careful consideration, we chose a sliding window that fitted in perfectly.
Once the window was installed, it was immediately obvious how much better the bathroom felt!
The air was clean and fresh and less humid.
Not only that, but this also allowed a view of some trees through the newly installed window.
All in all, the bathroom renovation was a great success!
There is now natural air, natural light and a beautiful view to go with it.
All of these elements have made such a difference to the bathroom and the clients are very happy of the outcome.
It was a great reminder of why bathroom renovations are so important – for comfort as well as aesthetic appeal.

We hope this bathroom renovation story inspires you to take action on your own bathroom.
Even the small change of adding the window, made a big difference and added $000’s to the value of the home!
